Join one of Leopard’s Leap’s knowledgeable and enthusiastic Wine Tasting Ambassadors on Friday mornings for the Culinaria Food and Wine Pairing – a tasting of the six wines in the Leopard’s Leap Culinaria Collection, each paired with an example of an ideal food partner.
All the wines in the Culinaria Collection are based on traditional French blends and are made with the specific focus of being exceptional partners to food. The Culinaria Food and Wine Pairing shows these wines with food that illustrates the skill of food and wine pairing, offering guests the ideal opportunity to enjoy well-matched combinations while getting to know the fundamentals behind making informed dinner table choices.
Pairings are presented jointly by Leopard’s Leap’s Chef Pieter de Jager and one of our Wine Tasting Ambassadors. The sessions are highly informative and, while being interactive and entertaining, provide very useful information regarding food and wine choices for future reference.
Food and Wine Pairings take place on Fridays at 12:00.
On every first Friday of the month, replacing the regular Culinary Food and Wine Pairing, a South African Food and Wine Pairing is presented. Guests will be able to experience the energy and diversity of South Africa with an array of dishes that reflects regionality and culture. Examples of dishes to expect (although they will changes according to season and availability) include homely township staples such as pap, chakalaka, robust Durban curry and mango atchar, marrowbones from the Karoo, Smoked West Coast snoek, venison, slaphakskeentjies, caramelised sweet potatoes, and classic South African desserts such as melktert, Malva pudding and koeksisters.
The cost for Food and Wine Pairing is R120 per person.
No refunds will be given if cancellation is less than 48 hours prior to the Food and Wine Pairing.
No children under the age of 18 allowed.
