Leopard’s Leap Returns as Open Book Sponsor

We are very happy to announce that Leopard’s Leap will be renewing its sponsorship of the second Open Book Cape Town Books and Literature Festival which will be held from 20 to the 24th September 2012.

The festival will be anchored by the Fugard Theatre with other venues in the are hosting events. “With the increased concentration of events happening at those key venues, we are expecting the buzz to be incredible,” organizers of the event said.

International authors we can confirm already include Lionel Shriver, Mark Kurlansky, Justine Picardie, Michela Wrong, Esi Edugyan, Alan Hollinghurst, Noo Saro-Wiwa, Kiran Desai, Lola Shoneyin, Kathryn Scholz, Mark Forsyth, James Gleick, Eliane Glaser, Joanne Harris and on the children’s side, internationally acclaimed author and illustrator, Emily Gravett.

“The bulk of the authors involved in Open Book will of course be local to South Africa. We will be working closely with local publishing houses to identify emerging writers whose profiles we can help to build as well as established names from the South African literary world,” the organizers said.
