Glühwein is synonymous with Christmas in Europe where its beautiful warm flavours of spice help to thaw the winter’s ice and snow. It might not be Christmas, but in the Cape Winelands, we definitely need something to warm up with tonight!
Try this easy recipe for Glühwein made with our Lookout Red and you will keep the winter chill at bay!
750 ml Leopard’s Leap Lookout Red (available from most retail outlets countrywide)
75 ml sugar
50 ml lemon juice
150 ml orange juice
6 – 8 cloves
Cinnamon sugar on the rim of the glass.
Mix all the ingredients in a small saucepan until just before boiling point.
Strain into a clean bowl.
