Join the festivities with our Lookout Semi-Sweet Caipirinha

The 2014 FIFA World Cup kicked off last night in Sao Paulo, Brazil and many a Caipirinha would have been mixed to celebrate the big event!

Caipirinha (pronounced kie-purr-REEN-yah) is the national drink of Brazil made with an intensely sweet Brazilian style of rum, fine sugar and lime. In the spirit of the world’s biggest single-event sporting competition, we have designed our own take on this traditional drink, using Leopard’s Leap Lookout Semi-Sweet.

Join us at Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards for the duration of the Soccer World Cup between 12 June and 13 July when we will be serving our Lookout Semi-Sweet Caipirinha or try the recipe below and make your own at home!

Lookout Semi-Sweet Caipirinha recipe

100 ml Leopard’s Leap Lookout Semi-Sweet

20 ml Sugar syrup (100 ml water & 100 ml sugar)

Slices of lime

Mint leaves

Ice cubes or crushed ice

To make the sugar syrup:

Combine  100 ml sugar and 100 ml water in a saucepan and bring to the boil.

Keep stirring until sugar has dissolved.

Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Mix the Lookout Semi-Sweet and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker.

Place the lime wedges into a tumbler or brandy glass and muddle.

Fill the glass with ice cubes or crushed ice.

Pour in the mix from the cocktail shaker.

Garnish with slices of lime and mint leaves.

Saude!
