In anticipation of next week’s Bastille Festival, mix this delightful L’Etoile Wine cocktail. The French L’Etoile translates as The Star and true to its name, this drink is sparkling and shiny!
L’Etoil Wine Cocktail Recipe
60 ml vanilla simple syrup (recipe below)
30 ml brandy
Leopard’s Leap Sparkling, chilled
lemon, cut into wedges
Ingredients for the vanilla simple syrup
1⁄2 cup water
1⁄2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method – vanilla simple syrup
Add water and sugar to a small saucepan over medium heat.
Stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Strain into a jar or bottle and seal tightly with a lid.
Method – cocktail
Pour brandy and vanilla simple syrup into a chilled champagne flute.
Fill to the top with the sparkling wine.
Squeeze lemon juice into glass and drop in rind.
