The village of Franschhoek, where Leopard’s Leap has it head office, was founded 300 years ago by French immigrants who brought with them their love of and expertise in wine and food making.

This passion and expertise lives on today and Franschhoek, nestled amid towering mountains about 45 minutes outside of the coastal city of Cape Town, is the gourmet and wine heartland of South Africa.

A remarkable 20 percent of the five-star chefs in South Africa are found in this small village attracting visitors from far and near. It is therefore only right that on this blog we will share recipes and restaurant reviews with you as well as match our wines to the appropriate food.
