POPPING THE CORKS AT FRANSCHHOEK UNCORKED

For the annual Franschhoek Uncorked on 26 and 27 September 2015, Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards will be treating guests to a wonderful weekend of food and wine.

Visitors with Franschhoek Uncorked passes will be offered a free tasting of three favourites from the versatile collection of wines: Leopard’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc, Leopard’s Leap Chardonnay Pinot Noir and Leopard’s Leap Merlot.

All these wines will also be available in the format of an innovative wine cocktail! Enjoy the beauty of the Franschhoek Valley from the wide stoep and relax with the refreshing Sauvignon Blanc Cooler, sophisticated Chardonnay Pinot Noir Cosmopolitan or the dreamy and delicious Merlot Milkshake.

No one will go hungry either! On both days, from 11:30 – 15:00, visitors will be invited to enjoy a Rotisserie-style lunch: tender, juicy meats and an array of delicious salads and side dishes from the seasonal Harvest Table.

As September is Heritage Month, the Franschhoek Valley has launched a Braai4Heritage initiative. Chef Pieter will be adding some braai twists to his menu and the state-of-the-art Rotisserie will be used to cook the all-time favourite braaibroodjies (fire-grilled sandwiches) as well as his take on traditional boerewors (sausage) made with a special selection of spices. Also try the plat du jour, an assortment of South African favourites.

The Leopard’s Leap shop will tempt you in stocking up on nifty tools and quirky accessories for the kitchen while pop-rock band, Slow Jack, will be entertaining guests between 11:00 and 16:00 on both days.

Your Uncorked Weekend Pass, which costs R120 per person, allows you access to the participating farms as well as a complimentary tasting glass and free wine tastings. Pre-book through www.webtickets.co.za to avoid disappointment.

For more info on the weekend’s activities, please contact the Franschhoek Wine Valley offices on 021 876 2861 or visit www.franschhoekuncorked.co.za
