Chef de Partie
Leopard’s Leap Vineyards in the Franschhoek Valley requires a person with a positive, energetic, and enthusiastic outlook and the ability to function well under pressure to join the Restaurant team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- prepare and cook dishes in assigned section to the highest standard according to set recipes
- ensure consistency and quality of dishes
- monitor portion and waste control
- assist with inventory checks and stock rotation
- ensure strict compliance with hygiene, food safety and health regulations
- supervise and mentor junior chefs
- assist senior chefs with menu development
Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following:
- degree or diploma in culinary arts / formal chefs training
- previous experience in a similar position in a professional kitchen
- strong preparation and cooking skills across multiple techniques
- knowledge of food hygiene, kitchen safety and allergen protocols
- good understanding of stock rotation, portion control and minimising waste
- strong attention to detail
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to function as part of a team
- ability to work independently and take initiative
- ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to work on weekends and public holidays

Sous chef
Leopard’s Leap in the Franschhoek Valley requires a vibrant person, with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm, to express his/her creativity as Sous chef.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- to assist the Head Chef to oversee and co-ordinate day-to-day running of the kitchen
- planning of functions
- menu planning
- orders and stock control
- staff management
- staff training
- delegating responsibilities to staff members.

- a relevant degree or diploma
- at least five years’ experience in a similar position
- strong leadership skills
- diligence and excellent people skills
- ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- sober habits
- creativity and passion for food innovation

Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- assist Pastry Chef to create innovative desserts, pastries, and confectionary items according to established recipes and standards
- measure and prepare ingredients ensuring correct handling and storage of ingredients
- assist with inventory and stock management
- ensure cleanliness of pastry section by following strict hygiene regulations

- degree or diploma in culinary arts / formal chefs training
- previous experience in a similar position
- knowledge of and a strong interest in a variety of pastry and confectionary techniques and trends
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to function as part of a team
