Visitors from around the globe coming to South Africa for the FIFA World Cup will have many opportunities to explore the country, with many sights situated close to stadiums. 

SA National Parks (Sanparks) have sold out most of their accommodation, with mainly South African, UK and US visitors staying in Skukuza and other camps in the Kruger National Park during the World Cup. Other parks such as the Addo Elephant Park in the Eastern Cape are also popular for soccer fans who want to combine their travelling to stadiums with eco-tourism.

In Limpopo, an Eco-Tourism Park worth R30 million was built at the Tshikuyu Village, which will also assist in providing accommodation to visitors to the nearby Kruger National Park.

'Eco-tourism' is a popular term to describe everything from adventure travel to sustainable tourism. The Ecotourism Society notes that eco-tourists should partake in 'responsible tourism' – making sure the environment they are visiting is protected, the local community uplifted and local culture respected.
