Mellow into Autumn with a Choice of Reds
Mellow into Autumn with a Choice of Reds
We have an early Easter this year and as we are just settling into Autumn, the days are mild and mellow and really just marvellous! The perfect time of year to switch to easy-drinking red wines.
The Leopard's Leap Classic Reds are Autumn-friendly and ideal for Easter flavours. Join us and mellow into the cooler weather with our exciting new menu. Weekends are for family and friends with our popular Rotisserie and Harvest Table lunches, while weekdays are for moreish choices, a sensational selection of small plates, pizzas, burgers and of course, our famous braaibroodjies!
But even if you can’t make it to Franschhoek, pour a mellow glass of Leopard’s Leap and enjoy a moreish meal from our recipe suggestions. These delicious combinations will make lunch dates linger longer, nippy sunsets smile and Easter tables more elegant than ever.
The mood is mellow and no wonder that we would like to pour a mellow glass of Merlot too! We were thinking of recipes that ticks this box and Christine Capendale suggested feta and caramelised onion phyllo parcels with a not-so-mild hot honey! It makes for magnificent snacking. Stack a few on a plate and make a meal of it, serve them all prettily placed on a platter as canapes or perhaps one or two for a starter if you set a table. Always with a glass of Leopard's Leap Merlot!
There is no more classic a combination the Cabernet Sauvignon and lamb and these two also make for the ultimate Easter pairing. Our more traditional Easter table recipe is a melting slow-cooked lamb shoulder served with a gremolata of feta and mint. The ultimate Easter treat! But if you would like to keep with the classics in a less formal way, do try the Greek style lamb meatballs with hummus, tzatziki and olive salsa. Serve it with toasted pitas and of course, that glass of Leopard's Leap Cabernet.
Is chocolate a non-negotiable part of your Easter repertoire? You are in luck as the Leopard's Leap blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot brings you the best of both classic Cabernet and mellow Merlot. The result is a Chocolate-friendly red wine! Try it with a Chocolate Basque Cheesecake with raspberries. All at once, creamy and chocolaty, but with an edgy sophistication and the fresh acidity of raspberries.
We bet our mellow-Merlot, classic-Cabernet-Sauvignon and best-of-both-Blend will become your Autumn favourites this year. Buy any 6 bottles of the Leopard’s Leap Classic Reds and pay 10% less. Available during April from our Tasting Room or leopardsleap.co.za
